8 months ago By Sports Desk

The fourth round of the 2024 Superbike World Championship in Misano brought excitement and surprises to the Superpole race, held on Sunday morning. Toprak Razgatlioglu, from the ROKiT BMW Motorrad team, dominated the race, securing his second consecutive victory on the Italian circuit and extending his lead in the championship.

Razgatlioglu started the race with a solid performance, but it was in the final laps that he showed his superiority. He managed to overtake Nicolo Bulega, from the Aruba.it Ducati team, opening up a comfortable lead to the finish line. Alex Lowes, from Kawasaki Racing Team, completed the podium, being more than four seconds behind the winner.

The race was marred by several incidents. Nicolo Bulega and his teammate, Alvaro Bautista, finished the race with their damaged Ducatis, without their aerodynamic wings. Bulega had contact with Lowes when trying to get back on track after going wide at the first corner, while Bautista fell off his Panigale and finished in 17th place after remounting the bike.

Other notable incidents included the collision between Remy Gardner and Garrett Gerloff, which resulted in both drivers crashing. Sam Lowes was also one of the first to crash, leaving the race visibly frustrated. Jonathan Rea, who had suffered a serious accident on the opening lap in the previous race, made an impressive recovery, coming from 15th on the grid to finish in 8th place.

The full race (Race 2) is scheduled for 14:00 local time and promises more emotions and fierce disputes between the drivers.
