Tests and adjustments bring success for Bagnaia but “can’t say” what changes were made

6 months ago By Sports Desk

After a tough round in Austin, Francesco Bagnaia and his Lenovo Ducati team were looking for improvements and the practice results suggest they have been found. The Italian driver received positive feedback during testing in Jerez, where he managed to set a new fastest lap record, after Maverick Vinales had already lowered the previous mark.

Bagnaia, who performed poorly in Austin, described his comeback in one word: “better.”

“Better, even better — compared to Austin, I feel a little better,” he said.

During training, the team made a series of adjustments and tests to find new solutions, which led to success for the Italian pilot.

“We planned this Friday as a test – to compare it to the past and it worked. We are testing more things than usual. In the last part of the second free practice I felt very good with the used tires and when we put on the new tires we managed to set the record, so I’m happy – very happy,” said Bagnaia.

However, when asked what changes had been made, Bagnaia remained tight-lipped, saying only: “I can’t say.”

Bagnaia admitted that it is always difficult to distinguish in Jerez, as many drivers accumulate many laps during previous tests, which increases the level of competition.

“The level is quite high, as always, considering the number of laps we do with the tires, I’m happy. We have to wait to better understand the pace of each driver, but for now I’m happy,” he said. .

Finally, Bagnaia is already thinking about the next races and the choice of tires.

“The pace was quite good with the soft tires used and I think we will be on soft tires tomorrow in the race”, he concluded.

With the adjustments and successful testing, Bagnaia and his team are optimistic about the upcoming races, even as they keep their feet on the ground and continue to work to further improve the Ducati’s performance. Although the details of the changes made remain secret, the results speak for themselves, showing that determination and the search for solutions lead to positive results for the Italian manager.
