Charles Leclerc’s strategy against “unhappy” Verstappen in Miami

6 months ago By Sports Desk

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is preparing to face Max Verstappen at the Miami Grand Prix with a bold strategy. After a series of practice sessions dominated by Verstappen, Leclerc sees a chance to put pressure on the reigning world champion during Sunday’s race.During the Sprint weekend in Miami, Verstappen showed impressive form by leading every session and taking victory over Leclerc in Saturday’s Sprint.

However, Leclerc found reason for optimism as he stayed relatively close to Verstappen throughout the Sprint race, trailing the Red Bull driver by less than two seconds for most of the race.Leclerc is aware of the importance of taking advantage of opportunities that arise during races and is determined to capitalise on Verstappen’s possible dissatisfaction with his car’s performance. During the sprint, Verstappen expressed dissatisfaction with the car, giving Leclerc hope that he could come under pressure during the main race.

The Ferrari driver is confident that if he can stay close to Verstappen and take advantage of the use of DRS after the first lap, he can put pressure on the championship leader and potentially challenge his supremacy at the Miami circuit.Furthermore, Leclerc emphasised the importance of a solid strategy and fine-tuning the car to maximise the chances of challenging Verstappen. He believes that if Ferrari can maintain a Sprint-like pace and implement a smart strategy, they can put Verstappen under pressure and go for a shock win.Ferrari can also benefit from the starting position of Leclerc and his teammate Carlos Sainz, who qualified between the two Red Bull drivers. With Sainz starting third and Leclerc fifth, the Italian team has a realistic chance of challenging Verstappen and fighting for victory in Miami.

Leclerc’s strategy against a “disgruntled” Verstappen reflects Ferrari’s determination to pursue success and challenge the championship favourites. With Sunday’s race approaching, all eyes will be on whether Leclerc can turn his strategy into a positive result and earn a place on the podium in Miami.
