Aleix Espargaro: Pedro Acosta almost removed all the stickers off my fairing

11 months ago By Sports Desk

Aleix Espargaro, the Spanish rider, stopped at the MotoGP test in Qatar on February 19, but could not escape a tense moment in a session with Pedro Acosta that almost resulted in the chips being removed from his roots.

Espargaro was not in the top ten at the start of FP1, but the driver’s performance improved significantly as the lap times deteriorated. He passed Pedro Acosta, his co-driver, in a maneuver that almost resulted in a collision.

The situation reminded him of an incident last season between Fabio Di Giannantonio and Francesco Bagnaia. Espargaro, caught in the wake of Acosta, had a moment of trouble that almost broke with the young talent.

Espargaro said about the incident: “I was surprised. He tore almost all the stitches out of my head right. After that, I had no more fresh air and could not stop the motorcycle. We know in which field we have to work.”

Despite this tense moment, the Aprilia rider was happy with his overall performance in the tests, especially in the hard track conditions. He praised the performance in the first practice session and noted that the lap times were very good.

However, surprise rain halted the evening’s action and led Espargaro to express hope that the weather would remain dry for the race and the race. Given Saturday’s busy schedule, which counts as the final free practice for the Q2 positions, Espargaro stressed the importance of maintaining a good feeling on the bike.

He stressed: “[It] was very important. In the first session, on a hard and very hot track, I felt better than in the day’s tests. I hope we do a good job tomorrow, because it will be the third session Free practice in the second quarter will be very important for us.”

With a solid performance in the third free practice session, Espargaro wants to secure his position in the second quarter and show resilience and determination even in difficult situations. The MotoGP season promises intense emotions and fans are eagerly waiting to see how Aleix Espargaro and the other riders will overcome the challenges in Qatar and throughout the season.
