Alex Albon Could Have Traded Williams F1 Car for Vespa in ‘Painfully Slow’ Monaco GP

9 months ago By Sports Desk

Williams driver Alex Albon has voiced his frustration after a deliberately slow pace at the Monaco Grand Prix, joking that Albon might swap his Williams car for his own Vespa.

Albon scored his first point of the season, finishing ninth behind Yuki Tsunoda, but finished a disappointing 78 laps behind the RB driver. He called the race painfully slow, criticizing Tsunoda’s excessive speed control and much of the field.

The slowness of the race was evident to Alboni, who joked that he could lap the Monaco circuit with the Vespa because of the low speed. He said he struggled to concentrate during the race when the car wasn’t pushing its limits.

Albon then emphasized the importance of the Williams team scoring points and bringing positive momentum to the next races. He praised the team’s continued work to improve the car’s performance, highlighting the results achieved so far this season.

Tsunoda, on the other hand, explained that he followed the team’s strategy even if it meant slowing down and not using the car’s full potential. He stressed the importance of respecting the team’s decisions, even if he is nervous as a driver.

Although Albon and Tsunoda were disappointed with the slow pace of the race, they both understood the importance of sticking to team strategies. While Albon joked with Vespa, Tsunoda stressed that the team’s instructions must be respected in order to achieve a solid result.

Finally, the Monaco Grand Prix may have been characterized by a slow and frustrating pace for some drivers, but for Albo it was an important stage where he scored his first points of the season. The challenge now is to maintain the positive momentum and look for better results in the next races.
