Andrea Iannone backed to make astonishing MotoGP comeback

8 months ago By Sports Desk

Italian rider Andrea Iannone, who returned to racing after a four-year ban for doping, impressed in the World Superbike (WSBK) for the Go Eleven Ducati team. His early performances have been so impressive that there is talk of a possible return to MotoGP.

Go Eleven team principal Dennis Sacchetti strongly believes that Iannone should be given another chance in MotoGP. “Andrea is a very good rider, and I think he deserves to stay with the official package in WSBK and also to ride in MotoGP,” said Sacchetti. With options in both WSBK and MotoGP, Iannone has to decide what he wants for his career, he said.

Iannone is currently sixth in the WSBK standings after three rounds, riding a standalone Panigale V4 R. He signed a one-year contract with Go Eleven, with an option for a second year. However, with possible changes to the team’s composition, especially if Alvaro Bautista chooses to retire, Iannone could get a place in the official Ducati WSBK team alongside Niccolò Bulega.

Iannone expressed his focus on the championship and mentioned that he will make a decision about his future after the Misano race on June 14. “Every day things change, so we have something new. I want to focus on the championship, and after Misano I will start to decide my future. First of all, it is important to decide whether I stay in WSBK or not,” said Iannone.

Sacchetti said the final decision was up to Iannone, and he would be happy if the manager decided to stay with the team. “If he wants to stay with us, we will be very happy because, even though we are a private team, I think we will fight for good results. We have good support from Ducati, and we are competitive enough to be on the podium with this thing. Every race.

In addition to WSBK, Iannone’s name has been mentioned as a candidate for several vacancies on MotoGP teams next season. During his MotoGP career, Iannone has held important roles at Ducati, Suzuki, and Aprilia, making him an experienced and top-class rider who can add value to any team.

Iannone’s return to MotoGP will be an exciting event for him and fans of the sport. His skills and experience could bring new dynamism to the MotoGP grid. Iannone’s future will be eagerly awaited as the WSBK season progresses.

His return to racing has already made a big impact, and Andrea Iannone has the privilege to choose the path that suits him best, whether he continues to shine in WSBK or makes a triumphant return to MotoGP.
