Carlos Sainz Draws Interest from Four Teams Post Ferrari’s Choice of Lewis Hamilton

11 months ago By Sports Desk

The musical chairs are already underway in Formula 1 for the 2025 season, and Carlos Sainz has gradually emerged as a central figure in the movement. Lewis Hamilton has confirmed he will join Ferrari in 2025, replacing Sainz, giving the Spaniard at least four options for next season.Renowned F1 journalist Lawrence Barreto shared his views on the F1 Nation podcast, pointing out that despite losing his Ferrari seat to Hamilton, Sainz is not in as dire a situation as he appears.

Barto emphasizes that Sainz’s form is not in doubt, there will be more opportunities on the driver market next year.”I really don’t think he’s in that bad of a position right now. I think probably the best thing that could happen is that he sees that he’s lost his place as the greatest driver of his generation,” commented Barteau. He stressed that Sainz has “many options” and noted that Mercedes and Red Bull still have places for 2025.

Barto believes that Sainz has a better chance at Mercedes, especially given that the driver knows Toto Wolff.”At Mercedes they want consistency and someone who doesn’t make noise. They want someone who gets on well with Jorge Russell and Carlos Sainz fits that profile,” noted Barto. He also revealed that Aston Martin, Sauber (which will become Audi in 2026) and Williams could be alternatives to Sainz. While these teams may not scream “Ferrari”, Barto stresses that each of them could grow at different rates in the coming years. The initial uncertainty surrounding Sainz’s future after losing his Ferrari seat looks set to turn into a number of intriguing possibilities. The 2025 F1 season has already begun to develop before the start of the 2024 season, promising a year of change and intense competition.Attention now turns to Sainz’s next move and the teams’ decisions as the F1 chessboard continues to redefine itself in preparation for a season full of excitement and fierce competition.
