F1 2023 World Championships End: Top Points And Positions

1 years ago By Sports Desk

The 2023 Formula 1 season is history, and throughout 22 exciting grands prix, we learned the name of the title winner, who for the third consecutive time was Max Verstappen. The Dutchman dominated places in almost every weekend of the course, and put his name in gold letters on the Olympus of the Great Circus, breaking all kinds of records.

The Dutchman managed to break his record for most points in a single campaign, and he added 575 with his spectacular RB19. With that same car, Sergio Pérez, his teammate, secured second position in the final race of the year, successfully surpassing the challenges posed by Lewis Hamilton in the concluding stages of 2023. However, it was not Hamilton who was relentlessly pursuing him from the beginning.

That was Fernando Alonso, who little by little was deflated by the poor performance of the Aston Martin until he finished in fourth position in the drivers’ world championship with 206 units, tied with Charles Leclerc, beating Lando Norris by one and Carlos Sainz by six.

Points and positions of the 2023 F1 Drivers’ World Championship

Max Verstappen dominated the 2023 Formula 1 season at will and won his third consecutive world title, leaving Sergio Pérez with the greatest distance from second place in a full year, while Lewis Hamilton completed the honorary podium.

The duel for fourth place was the most interesting since there were several drivers immersed in a battle that was resolved in the last race in favour of Fernando Alonso, although the Asturian tied at 206 points with Charles Leclerc. Still, since the Spaniard achieved better results, it was for him.

British-Belgian motorsports racing driver Norris, despite all his efforts, added 205 points, finishing 6th, while Sainz lost everything in the last race of the year and had to settle for 7th place and 200 units.

The Red Bull team was the best of the 2023 Formula 1 season, and its victories and dominance prove it, winning the sixth constructors’ title, the second in a row. However, the interest was behind, since Ferrari and Mercedes were playing for second place, which was decided in favour of those from Brackley by just 3 points.

The fight for fourth place was almost defined before the last appointment of the course, with McLaren well ahead of Aston Martin Racing, a total of 22 units, and those from Woking certified that position to leave those from Silverstone fifth in what is their best result since they came to the championship with that name.

The Spanish drivers reached 200 points tied for fourth place in the world championship in the last race of the 2023 season, although Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc were stalking them, with 195 and 188 units respectively. For this reason, it was essential to stay ahead of them, although the victory of the Spaniard in the Singapore Grand Prix was not enough.

Finally, the two-time world champion managed to add a total of 206 points and a creditable fourth position. At the same time, his compatriot abandoned the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and finished with the same points in seventh place.

This is how the duel between F1 colleagues in the drivers’ world championship in the 2023 season turned out.

  • Verstappen (1st) has taken 290 points from Sergio Pérez (2nd) in the driver’s championship in the 2023 F1 season
