Jack Miller Eyes Gresini Move, Stresses Importance of Ducati Relationship

8 months ago By Sports Desk

Jack Miller, the Australian MotoGP rider, is exploring new opportunities after being surprised by KTM’s decision not to renew his contract for the 2025 season. After KTM signed Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales for Tech3, Miller remains confident about securing a spot on the grid next year.

Having raced for Honda and Ducati before joining Red Bull KTM in 2023, Miller maintains “good options” for the next season. In an interview with MotoGP.com, he emphasized the importance of keeping good relationships within the paddock. “Fortunately, I’ve kept good relationships around the paddock. So, whatever seats are available, we’re talking to those people and trying to weigh up our options,” said Miller.

One discussed possibility is his potential move to Gresini, replacing Marc Márquez. Regarding this potential move and his relationship with Ducati, Miller stated: “We have a good relationship with Gigi [Dall’Igna], Claudio [Domenicali], and all the guys at Ducati. The Ducatisti are also a strong support for me.”

Miller emphasized the importance of not “burning bridges” when leaving a team, as one never knows when they might need to rely on those contacts again. This philosophy, he said, has been crucial in keeping doors open, especially with Ducati, the team with which he achieved three MotoGP victories.

Miller’s decision to preserve his relationships, especially with Ducati, could be a significant factor in his search for a new team. His history includes stints with LCR Honda, Marc VDS Honda, Pramac Ducati, and Ducati Lenovo, besides KTM. This vast experience and maintained ties with Ducati could be decisive factors in his next signing.

As Miller continues to explore his options, the 2025 season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent years. Miller’s potential addition to Gresini could bring a new dynamic to the team and further increase the grid’s competitiveness.

Determined to prove his worth, Miller remains focused on finding the best opportunity for himself. For MotoGP fans, the movement in the rider market promises a season full of excitement and intense competition. It remains to be seen what the next chapter in Jack Miller’s career will be and how he will position himself in the competitive MotoGP landscape.

Miller’s approach underscores the importance of maintaining professional and strategic relationships, highlighting that in the world of racing, personal connections and reputation are as vital as on-track performance.
