Lowes Reflects on Best Form of His WorldSBK Career

7 months ago By Sports Desk

Alex Lowes is experiencing one of the best phases of his WorldSBK career and is determined to make the most of this positive moment. Following an impressive performance at the recent Donington Park GP, where he secured podium finishes in two of the three races, Lowes is closing in on the championship leader, Alvaro Bautista, and is eager to continue his successful trajectory in 2024.

With more wins at this point in the season than in previous years, Lowes has shown remarkable consistency that recalls his standout performance in 2019. “This is one of the best seasons I’ve had so far. In 2019, I was fast and consistent, but this year the championship is slightly stronger in terms of depth,” Lowes stated. “There are many fast riders and teams now. I would say I’m in the best blend of experience and speed I’ve ever been.”

Despite being less than one win behind Bautista, Lowes keeps his focus on short-term goals rather than solely on his position in the standings. “The goal is to finish as high as possible,” Lowes explained. “I wouldn’t say that thinking about third place in the world championship is a big motivation for me when I’m training at home. But, every weekend, I want to do my best. Being on the podium and winning races, especially at tracks other than Phillip Island, would be fantastic.”

Lowes also highlighted the importance of maintaining motivation and focus for each race. “I’m enjoying the moment with the team, but we’re always trying to improve and do more,” he said. “If I keep setting these small goals, the result at the end of the championship will be a consequence of the good work we’ve done.”

With such a competitive and challenging season, Lowes understands that every point counts and consistency will be crucial to achieving his goals. His determination to continually improve his performance and his strategic approach to each race are evidence of his commitment to standing out in the WorldSBK.

As the season progresses, Lowes continues to focus on capitalizing on his current form and maximizing his performance in each race. With his experience and speed, he is well-positioned to continue his impressive trajectory and establish himself as one of the top contenders in the championship.
