Red Bull’s Ominous Warning to McLaren as Lando Norris Challenges Max Verstappen

1 years ago By Sports Desk

In a recent interview, the young Brtish6 McLaren driver, Lando Norris, said that the team is very hopeful for the 2024 season. He further added that he thinks the team is just a few upgrades away from giving a strong fight to Red Bull for the No. 1 spot. And he not only laid a claim; he boasted that the team can surely do it for real.

The McLaren team started the 2023 season in the worst possible way, but since bringing new upgrades to the Austrian GP, the team has reached new heights in the second half of the season. Since Austria, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have grabbed a staggering nine podium finishes between them. This performance further adds up to Lando Norris clinching a podium finish in the sprint race of the Brazilian Grand Prix.

On the other hand, the Red Bull team and Max Verstappen had arguably the most dominant season in F1 history. The team won the constructors’ championship by miles this year after building what was by far the quickest car.

The team has broken many records during the season, except for one. They did not record the quickest wheel change of the year. That was achieved by McLaren, who set a ridiculous world record in the process.

It was managed despite the sweltering heat of the Qatar Grand Prix. The team’s pit crew managed to change all four wheels of Lando Norris so quickly that he was stationary for just 1.8 seconds, helping him to reach the podium.

Though the team broke many records in 2023, they could not come near this record, marking their only letdown of the season.

But recently, Red Bull has stated that they will be breaking this record in 2024. Talking to the team principal has underlined that their main goal for the next season is to break this ridiculous world record.
