Sam Lowes Secures Future with Another Year in WorldSBK

7 months ago By Sports Desk

Sam Lowes is confident about his future in WorldSBK, announcing that he will continue in the series for another year. The British rider, currently with the Marc VDS team, confirmed that the team will remain in WorldSBK for the 2025 season.

“It’s completely settled. From my side, it’s completely settled what will happen,” Lowes said about his future. “It’s not up to me to say, but there are no surprises about my future and what I will do. I’ll be doing another year at WorldSBK. I’m waiting for the team to announce their plans, but there are no surprises there.”

Lowes and the long-time Moto2 team made the transition to WorldSBK earlier this season, and the collaboration seems set to continue into the next year. This announcement puts an end to any speculation about Lowes’ future in the series.

During the first practice at Donington Park, Lowes finished 14th in a cloudy session. Speaking about the importance of previous experience and knowledge of track conditions, Lowes believes these factors could be crucial to achieving a good result this weekend.

“It really is a home race; I live 10 minutes from the track, so it’s wonderful to race here again,” Lowes said. “My last race here was in 2013, so it’s been quite a while. It will be a great weekend. I think in the first session, it will only take a few laps, but it’s a track where I grew up riding and know well, so it’s not like I don’t know where to go!”

Lowes highlighted the advantages of racing on a familiar track with the support of the local fans. “This weekend, the home support, the home race, and knowing the conditions will be a good advantage. I think the Ducati can perform well anywhere. The strong points of our bike are the final sector and the fast, flowing first half, where you’ll see my style.”

With Lowes looking ahead to the future and securing his continuity in WorldSBK, fans and analysts will be watching how he and the Marc VDS team perform in the upcoming races. With the stability of knowing his future is secure, Lowes can focus on delivering solid performances and building on the progress made this season.

Lowes and the Marc VDS team have shown potential throughout the season, and the confirmation of their stay in the series is a positive sign for continuous development and success in WorldSBK. The next season promises to be exciting for Lowes, with expectations of improvements and significant achievements ahead.
